Privacy Policy

PlayCompare collects only what is necessary to provide the service.

Both the extension and the mobile app:

• Store prices and game metadata — when you look up a game, we send the game ID and your selected region to our API to fetch prices. This is not tied to any account or identity.

• Region and language preference — stored locally on your device or browser. Never sent to third parties.

• Price history — we store historical price data per game in our database to power the "historical low" feature. This data contains no personal information.

Mobile app only (account features):

• Account information — if you sign in (via email, Google, or Apple), we store your email address and a unique user ID. Apple Sign In users may use Apple's private relay email; we store whatever address Apple provides.

• Price alerts — if you set a price alert, we store the game ID, your target price, and your user ID to check prices and notify you.

• Push notification token — if you enable notifications, we store a device token to deliver your alerts. You can disable this at any time in the app's Settings.

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your payment or financial information

• Your browsing history beyond the game pages you interact with

• Device identifiers beyond push notification tokens (when notifications are enabled)

• Location data

We use the data we collect solely to operate PlayCompare:

• Your email is used to identify your account and send price drop alert emails (if configured)

• Your push token is used only to deliver price alerts you have set

• Your price alerts are used to check prices and notify you — we do not analyse or share them

• We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties

PlayCompare relies on the following third-party services:

Supabase — used for authentication and database storage. Your account data and price alerts are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase's privacy policy applies.

Google OAuth — if you sign in with Google, Google's authentication service is used. Google's privacy policy applies to that flow.

Apple Sign In — if you sign in with Apple, Apple's authentication service is used. Apple's privacy policy applies to that flow.

Railway — hosts our backend API. Railway's privacy policy applies to our server infrastructure.

Price data is fetched from Steam, GOG, Green Man Gaming, Fanatical, and other stores via our backend server — your IP address is not exposed to those stores through PlayCompare.

Account data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account by contacting us and all associated data (alerts, push tokens) will be removed within 30 days.

Price history data is retained indefinitely as it contains no personal information and forms the core of the historical low feature.

• You can disable push notifications at any time in the app's Settings screen

• You can delete your price alerts at any time within the app

• You can delete your account by contacting us at bayarumutt@gmail.com

• Extension users can clear locally stored preferences by clearing site data in their browser

PlayCompare is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of PlayCompare after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
